Privacy Policy for Wish Me

Overview

Wish Me ("the app") helps you remember birthdays for people you care about. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's used, and the choices you have. The app is built to keep your data on your device — there is no account, login, or company server that your birthday data is sent to.

Information We Collect

The app stores information you choose to add about the people in your life: their name, birthdate, an optional relationship tag, free-text notes, and gift ideas. Most people add this by recording their screen while scrolling through a birthday list in another app (such as Snapchat or Facebook) and importing that recording — the app reads the on-screen text from the video to find names and dates. You can also add or edit entries by hand. The app also stores your own birthday, if you choose to add it, so it can remind you about your own day.

Information About Other People

Most of the data in this app is about people other than you — your friends, family, and contacts. Those people have not created an account or agreed to anything; you are adding their name and birthdate yourself. By using the app, you confirm that you have the right to keep this information for your own personal, non-commercial use (remembering birthdays), and that you will remove it if someone asks you to.

How We Use Information

Birthday data is used only to show your list of birthdays inside the app and to schedule the reminder notifications you've turned on. It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone else.

Data Storage & Retention

All birthday data (names, dates, relationship tags, notes, and gift ideas) is stored locally on your device only. It never leaves your phone or gets uploaded anywhere. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted along with it. You can also erase everything at any time without uninstalling, using "Delete all data" in Settings.

Photo & Video Access

The app asks for access to your photo/video library so you can pick a screen-recording video to import birthdays from. Video frames are processed briefly on your device to read the on-screen text, then discarded — they are not uploaded or kept after the import finishes.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled entirely on your device using your operating system's local notification system. No push notification service or remote server is involved, and no notification content is sent anywhere.

Subscriptions & Payment Data

If you subscribe to a premium plan, the purchase is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and subscription status is managed for us by RevenueCat, a subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat and the app store receive a device/purchase identifier and your subscription status — never your birthday data, which stays on your device. Children's Privacy

Wish Me is not directed at children and is not intended to be used by them directly. An adult user may store the birthdate of a younger family member or friend as part of normal use of the app; this is not information collected from a child, and the app does not knowingly collect any information directly from children under 13.

Your Choices & Rights

You can edit or delete any individual birthday entry at any time. You can erase all app data at once using "Delete all data" in Settings, or remove everything by uninstalling the app. Because nothing is stored on a server, there is no separate account or backup to request deletion from.

Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's own operating system security and storage protections, the same as any other app's local data. Because it never travels over the network, it is not exposed to server breaches or interception in transit.

International Users

Since your birthday data stays on your own device, there is no cross-border transfer of that data by us. Purchase-related data handled by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may be processed according to their own respective privacy policies and locations.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
